SOLUTION
Simply Flex

Challenge

Alliance is actively decarbonising its seven meat processing plants across New Zealand, including investigating the electrification of process heat at Lorneville. It was seeking a way to optimise operations and maximise cost and carbon savings.

Solution

We integrated our Simply Flex platform into Alliance’s Lorneville site operations. This enables Alliance to contribute up to 4MW of interruptible load into the reserves market and sets the site up to shift its power load to support future electrification.

Impact

Flexibility through Simply Flex allows Alliance to maximise the use of its existing electrical assets, accelerate project investment and reduce infrastructure capital expenditure. Alliance is also developing solutions to further reduce carbon emissions by developing plans to electrify its process heat load within network and electricity price constraints.

Alliance is one of many Simply Flex customers who have signed up additional sites after establishing and maintaining an initial site on the program
